Description
Up for auction is a VINTAGE 20 PIECE TEA SET OF CHILDREN’S DISHES. The HAND PAINTED porcelain set consists of: 1 Teapot with lid – 4”h, 1 Sugar bowl with lid – 2 ¼”h, 1 Creamer – 1 ¾”h, 5 Plates – 2 ½”w, 6 Cups – 1”h, 6 Saucers – 2 ½”w. There are no chips or cracks on any of the pieces. One plate has a ‘dip’ on the edge but is smooth to the touch. The paint has worn off on a number of pieces. This set appears to be over 75 years old. The wood box is also very old with a brass ‘swing hook’ and hinges. It is hand-tooled on the sides and top. I cannot determine whether the top was originally painted in a dark color or added later. It measures 6 inches square and is 5 ½ inches high. Whether it is original to the set is also a mystery. The dishes were packed inside when I purchased it from an estate. Receipt of payment by PayPal, money order, or certified check will insure shipment within 5 business days. Item paid by personal check will be shipped 10 business days upon receipt of check. Buyer pays for shipping. Insurance is optional but I highly recommend you purchase it for a ceramic piece.
