Description  Mel Anderson Manufacturing Company Spitfire Dust'r U-control Bi-Plane.Sold ready to fly.The Mel Anderson Mfg.Co. was a Long Beach California based company that was in business for a short time in the early to mid 1950's.Wingspan measures 15".The fuselage is 14" from prop spinner to tail.This plane was a "Crop Duster" The pilot was removed and a cork was attached to his bottom.Flour was put in the uncorked hole and was released during flight from a trap door on the bottom of the plane.Ducts behind the motor forced the flour from the fuselage.A really neat set up.This little door was opened by a third control line by the operator of the plane.The plane was flown, and the back of the fuselage was cracked by the tail and nicely repaired by the owner.You can see the repair if you look closely.The plane has a .045 Spitzy Sr. engine which turns freely and has great compression.The plane shows glow fuel residue in places.It is a fine example of a rare airplane.It comes in a nice original box and has the original shipping insert.It also comes with nice original blueprints of the plane which measure 28" x 22" and original operating instructions.All in all a wonderful example of a rare early U-Control plane.Carefully packed and shipped via USPS Priority mail.Insured at your request.Please ask questions before you bid.I will answer them the best I can.Thanks.
