Lot of 80 Tin Soldier Flats Ancients + 2 Siege Machines Start Price USD 25.00 Current Price USD 25.00 Time Left - Bid Count 1 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, November 30, 2008 End Time Friday, December 05, 2008 Location Bainbridge, OH See more about 'Lot of 80 Tin Soldier Flats Ancients + 2 Siege Machines' Description This auction is for a large lot of 80 tin metal flats soldiers.  1 is mounted, the rest are foot.  Basically, the body itself is flat and the body is mounted on a narrow stand.  They look different, but they will stand up.  Every figure is beautifully painted on both sides.  I'm no historian, but the figures seem to be from the Recent B.C. to early A.D. period.  Box label that came with the lot states "Sythians <sic> Bowmen Fighting" which would be around that era.  There is a box with pushpins and location names that put the action around the vicinity of Israel. As you can see from the pics there is a variety of figures with bent weapons but not very many with broken weapons.  Along with the 80 figs there are also 2 siege engines, obviously not to scale, being a little larger than the men.  They appear to be catapults or trebuchets.  Judging from the smaller box that came with them, the figures were made in "Western Zone of Germany" by someone named Kieler Zinnfigurem and/or Marke:Kilia. Comes complete with the cigar box I received it all in.
