Description
This is a limited edition book co-authored by Grace Bradley Boyd, who was married to William (Hopalong Cassidy) Boyd for 35 years. It covers all aspects of William Boyd's life and career as a Hollywood leading man, as well as Grace's career as an actress. It tells the story of their life together and extensively covers all 66 feature films in which Boyd starred as Clarence Mulford's timeless cowboy hero, Hopalong Cassidy. This large 368 page hardcover is custom bound in the finest thick Italian leather which has been die-stamped in three different colors. A sterling silver heart (matching the hearts on Hoppy's holsters) is inlaid into the back cover, which features a blind embossed full size reproduction of the leather tooling on the original holsters which are now in the collection of the University of Wyoming at Laramie. The book uses the finest papers and binding. Hundreds of rare photos are included, as well as large reproductions of all movie posters for both the Hopalong Cassidy movies and Bill Boyd's silent features. Only 1000 copies have been produced, sparing no expense, and each book comes in a handmade clamshell box which is also embossed with a photo of William Boyd as Hoppy. Each copy of this edition is numbered and has been hand-signed by Grace Bradley Boyd, who is now 95 years old. All of the text is written by Michael Cochran in the words of Grace Bradley Boyd. Your complete satisfaction is guaranteed. Other Russ Cochran limited editions include Me and My Guitars by Chet Atkins and Michael Cochran and Les Paul-In His Own Words by Les Paul and Michael Cochran. These limited editions are now selling for a premium price (the Chet Atkins book originally sold for $150 and now sells for over $300; the Les Paul book originally sold for $200 and now sells for $300 or more). This book will delight any serious Hopalong Cassidy collector.
