Thanks to the internal locking mechanism that requires precise movements to open them (pushing or pulling up or down, sliding to the right or to the left of the box), they became an ideal secure place to hide possessions. Only doing the concrete sequence in the correct way will open the box. Also noteworthy is the decoration on the box, made by a traditional Japanese parquetry called Yosegi. This is a laborious hand working technique to create beautiful geometric mosaics using small pieces of different types of wood and colors. The Himitsu bako is a collector's item, but also a very nice and original present for people interested in Japanese culture and arts or for family or friends. You can use it like the Japanese people of Edo period and hide there your private objects, without the concern of losing the key. This box is ideal for personal items like keys, money etc. It has enough space for your private things and it needs 14 concrete movements to open; it is a pitfall for possible intruders.
