The model is from the "Authentic Models" collection. The Hindenburg was 803.8' long and 135' in diameter and it was the largest aircraft to ever fly. It carried hundreds of passengers and traveled thousands of miles before being destroyed in a tragic fire on May 6, 1937 at the Naval Air Station, Lakehurst, NJ. The model has the following features: completely hand made wood frame construction with stretched silk over the frame as the aircraft skin. It has an aluminum color with an antiqued wash.
