Here is a brand new, old stock, vintage Corgi Major Gift Set No. 21, GS21, Chipperfield's Circus Crane with Scammell Handyman Cab and Menagerie Trailer. Released in 1970. 22,000 sold. Die cast scale model; twin jewelled headlights; hand operated chrome lifting hook; and, adjustable jib. On the trailer are three clear plastic animal cages with bars running top to bottom. Each cage has a vertical sliding door with the same bars. Colourful and vibrant Chipperfield label covers the whole of the rear ouside of each cage. Background print in cages showing outdoor safari surroundings. Lions, Bears and Tigers included. Incredibly, the animals are still in their factory bubbles inside the cages!! Also included is the Elephant cage with Elephant. The elephant cage is moulded in plastic and has a lifting eyehole, with funtional loading doors. According to The Great Book of Corgi by Marcel R. Van Cleemput, ?this set consisted of the 1144 Circus CraneTruck, together with the trailer part only of the 1139 Menagerie Transporter and its three animal cages.
