Solid Pewter Sculptures on Cast Marble Bases. This is a very Impressive Solid Pewter Revolutionary War Chess Set in a handsome polished walnut case. The set was produced by the Franklin Mint for the Freedoms Foundation in the mid 1980's. The pieces consist of original portrait sculptures depicting the officers and enlisted men of both sides in the war. Set comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, an Introduction to the Revolutionary War, and a short Biography of all the key figures including George & Martha Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, Anthony Wayne, Henry Knox, King George III, and others. Playin pieces in EXCELLENT condition, there are a few minor scuffs on the case. Board is approx. 13 3/4" square.
