E. Schultze. The comic character, Foxy Grandpa, is shown on one side, asking two boys, "Now Boys, how much is thirteen times thirteen?" The toy measures 4 1/4" in diameter. This is an early calculator toy that calculates the result of multiplying one number by another. The copyright notice is along the left bottom edge and on the right bottom edge it reads, "Foxy Grandpa Souvenir Co. Northport, Long Island." On the other side it reads in the center, "Souvenir Louisiana Purchase Exposition." Instructions for using the multiplier are at the top. Instructions for purchasing additional multipliers are at the bottom. The center rivet is an early replacement causing the toy to function more loosely than originally intended. This could probably be easily corrected with a slightly larger connecting rivet. There is some light soiling and small scuffs to the surface as might be expected on a toy made in 1904. These show up in the photographs.
