NO RESERVE!!' Description After forty years of building marionettes, National Marionette Theatre is cleaning house! Up for sale is The English Princess Victoria from our production of “Sleeping Beauty”. This character was built for the 1985-86 touring season and is one of two characters from that production that are posted here on eBay. This character was the comic relief in this production of Sleeping Beauty she is sculpted to that end; very tall austere and slightly aloof. Victoria stands approximately 30 inches tall and weighs seven pounds. The head is of cast neoprene while the shoulders, arms, legs, hips and feet are carved basswood for proper weight and balance. The hands are cast latex. The knee, elbow and ankle joints are trunk fiber ball and socket with dowel pins while the shoulder and wrist joints are rope. The head is attached to the trunk by means of a traditional double loop neck joint. She is beautifully costumed and strung for very realistic movements that are the hallmark of National Marionette Theatre’s manipulation style. The control is a traditional eleven-string American airplane made of pine with double walker and elbow extender. The marionette is in 99% perfect shape. The reason I say this is because there is one small repaired costume hole on the back of her dress underneath her veil. Other than that the figure is absolutely as she was when built. She is a joy to perform with and is built to last for many years to come.
