The McDonald's Mayor character which measures (2 ft 3" H x 2 ft W x 6.5" thickness) is one of 5 rare McDonald's characters that will be offered for sale on behalf of the Smith Family Estate. Mr. L. Smith, as Operations Manager of the Long Beach company that was responsible for making the McDonald's characters, worked for the company approximately one year (1973-74)before leaving due to medical reasons. I am told that the McDonald's characters are very rare and perhaps one of a kind. After all my research I have not found another character like the ones up for sale today. The McDonald's Mayor character is in a frame, which the frame has splintered on right side and needs to be replaced.
