~HMS BOUNTY FULLY BUILT WOODEN SHIP MODEL 37"~ Start Price USD 460.00 Current Price USD 460.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Tuesday, December 02, 2008 End Time Friday, December 12, 2008 Location Front Range, Colorado See more about '~HMS BOUNTY FULLY BUILT WOODEN SHIP MODEL 37"~' Description pb1950sailing Store ~HMS BOUNTY FULLY BUILT WOODEN SHIP MODEL 37"~ Hi, and welcome to our Ebay store.  You are considering a fabulous value in a museum quality ship model.  It is the legendary HMS BOUNTY and it is striking!  Amazingly beautiful in solid cherry and other hardwoods.  The best plank on frame construction.  Dark hardwoods are used above the waterline.  Lighter woods are used below the waterline as the bottom of HMS BOUNTY was painted in white lead.  Portions of the topsides are painted to replicate the original paint scheme.  Several coats of varnish give the finished beauty.  The model was built from the original plans.  The details are impressive as you can see from the pictures.  It measures an impressive 37" in length, 30" in height and 10" in depth.  Wooden display base with brass nameplate included.  This model is shipped fully assembled.HMS BOUNTY was purchased by the Royal Navy in 1787.  She will always be remembered in naval history as the scene of the "Mutiny on the Bounty".  A tug of war between Captain William Bligh and Master's Mate Fletcher Christian resulted in Christian illegally seizing the ship and putting Bligh and his supporters over the side in a small jolly boat.  What has been overlooked is Bligh's incredible feat of small boat navigation.  Using only a sextant and a pocketwatch, Bligh navigated some 3600 miles of open ocean to bring what was left of his command to safety.  Christian and several mutineers settled on Pitcairn's Island where they burned the BOUNTY to elude their pursuers.  Their descendants live there to this day.This is a Buy It Now item, so we will ship it FREE!!!!!We have a number of museum quality wooden ship models listed in our Ebay store, so check in often.
