Description
racecarguy Store ~ RIVA Aquarama Hand Built 33" Mahogony Wood Boat Description : This auction features a highly detailed luxury scale model of the Riva Aquarama Runabout Speedboat . Introduced in 1963, the Riva Aquarama was the last of the traditional Italian mahogany runabouts. It competed with the top boats from Chris Craft. This very limited edition model was handmade by a Master Craftsman boat modeler (from Florida), using original Riva blueprints and top quality materials. The finished product is a beautiful showpiece. Hand built Aquarama model is 33" long, 10" wide and full of intricate detail. It was built using the plank on bulkhead method. It has leather seats and features hand stitched detailing. It includes realistic gauges and switches, brass and metal parts (no plastic) and many coats of high gloss clear varnish. Includes a hard plastic base for display. Luxury Boat Model is in "gently displayed" condition (has been in a glass showcase for several years). It does have a couple small handling dings (one left front, one right rear) from general display and handling, but are very minor, nothing eyecatching or major (you won't see them without close inspection). This is a true one of a kind showpiece (this craftsman rarely sells to the public - only retail outlets for display. If you have been in certain top shelf Restaurants in South Florida, you have probably seen some of his boats) and would make a great center piece for any Boat Collector or Riva speedboat owner. Would look awesome in a River House or Office. It would certainly be a great Christmas Gift for the Boat Lover who "has everything"! It displays well and should make a great addition to your 1960's era wooden boat collection.
